Tomato Garlic Biscuits

Tomato Garlic Biscuits are my recipe of the day with the blogging group Bread Bakers. We get together once per month to bake breads and bread variations on a variety of themes. This month’s topic was vegetable breads.
For my recipe, I chose to bake up some buttermilk based savory biscuits with tomatoes, garlic and chives.
These are a perfect accompaniment for me to serve with something like beef stew or vegetable soups, with the complementing tomato and garlic flavors.
If I have any leftover, these also dry nicely to make croutons for various kinds of dinner salads and tossed salads I like to serve with meals.
The nutritional yeast adds a bit of cheese inspired flavor so I like to include that as well. You can find that item at health foods stores as well as online.

I was going to try with tomato, but gave up. May be next time I will try this biscuit recipe. Love the beautiful shape you have made and also those garlic snakes. My kids would love it 🙂
Your biscuits are just bursting with flavor, Sue! I can’t imagine we’d have any leftover for making croutons, but I love that idea.
I’m going to make these the next time I make up a batch of soup. Great side!!
I love the idea of using these as croutons too – perfect flavors to toss with a salad.
