This is an old-school recipe for hamburger gravy which I had a reader make a request for. I do that kind of thing. If you ever want to request I post a certain recipe or are looking for a kind of recipe you lost, go ahead and ask. Sometimes, I have a recipe. What’s the worst that could happen? Also,  if you need to request, you can also use the contact form or request it via social media, such as Facebook or Twitter.

This is a variation on SOS which essentially is chipped beef in gravy,   but this one is made with hamburger meat. I served this over noodles as I would if I am making it for supper unless I made mashed potatoes. If it is something for breakfast or brunch I’d serve it over toast or biscuits.

I meant to have this posted  yesterday but I am lagging here so will keep the posting short. I have a recipe for jalapeno popper wontons I need to get up so need to get a move on  if you guys are to see that one today.

Tomorrow I will be posting a round-up of Big Game Appetizers recipes within a group of blogging friends. Pop  in and give it a peek, will you? As for the game, the (Green Bay) Packer Backers here at Palatable are still stinging from our playoff implosion. *sigh*

Better luck next year, right? Cya’ after awhile-

  2. When my husband and I went to school back in the 60’s, they had REAL hot lunches. One of our very favorites was “Mashed Potatoes with Hamburger Gravy.” When I saw this recipe we knew we had to try it, and we were not disappointed! True comfort food! Thank you for posting this, we will make it often!

  3. This was a delicious meal for us tonight. We all loved the flavor and the mashed potatoes we served it with. Thank you for a great recipe.

  4. Wonderful recipe Sue. The dh was in flavor heaven. Quick and easy to make with ingredients found in most kitchens, it will get made again and again. Rich, creamy and very satisfying. I served it over noodles for dinner and over Amish butter biscuits for breakfast. It was wonderful both ways. Thanks so much for sharing. Made for Susie’s World Tour.
