I am sharing my recipe for Brazilian feijoada, which is the national dish. The bean dishes in South America always seem to me to be a big production. And I just love that.
No worrying about what to serve with it. As it is all there. The feijoada is accompanied by rice, healthy greens, citrus fruit, olives, eggs and farofa, which is a toasted crumb made from cassava flour. I use a packaged mix. You should be able to get that at any Latin grocer.
From there, the only thing missing is some wine. I would suggest a nice red Argentinean Malbec. (I know some of my friends and followers are oenophiles and dig having a glass with supper). And who can argue with that?
Well maybe kids, but they should stick to red Kool-aid instead.
